Day wise Itinerary


Day 1: Arrival at Bagdogra Airport/New Jalpaiguri Station | Drive to Gangtok (114 km/approx. 4.5 hours)

You will receive assistance on your arrival at the Bagdogra Airport/New Jalpaiguri Railway Station. Drive to Gangtok and check-in at the hotel. In the evening, explore this charming town at your leisure. Stay overnight at the hotel.

Day 2: Sightseeing in Gangtok

Early next morning, go on a full-day sightseeing tour of Gangtok. Visit Tashi View Point, Ganesh Tok and Hanuman Tok to see spellbinding views of the Himalayas. See Do Drul Chorten, the biggest stupa in Sikkim. The Namgyal Institute of Tibetology (closed on Sunday) has an impressive collection of Tibetan artefacts and ancient manuscripts. The beautifully structured Rumtek monastery is located on the outskirts of Gangtok. You can also shop for souvenirs at the Institute of Handicrafts and Handlooms (closed on Sunday).

Day 3: Trip to Tsomgo Lake

After breakfast, travel 35 km from Gangtok to picnic along the Tsomgo Lake. At 12,400 feet above sea level, this lake has been formed by the melting of glaciers from the surrounding mountains. The lake is considered sacred by locals. Spend the evening at your leisure in Gangtok.

Day 4: Drive from Gangtok to Pemayangtse (123 km/approx. 6.5 hours)

In the morning, drive to Pemayangtse in West Sikkim. Stop by in Ravangla, a picturesque town in South Sikkim. Once you reach Pemayangtse, check-in at the hotel.

Day 5: Sightseeing in Pemayangtse

After breakfast, visit Rimbi Falls and the sacred Khecheopalri Lake, also known as the ‘Wishing Lake’ in Sikkim. See the lovely Kanchandzonga Falls, the Rimbi Rock Garden and the scenic Darap Village. Also, visit the Pemayangtse Monastery, set against an impressive view of the Kanchandzonga. This monastery was built for monks of pure Tibetan lineage. They can be identified by their red hats. Spend the evening at your leisure.

Day 6: Drive from Pemayangtse to Darjeeling (128 km/approx. 5 hours)

After breakfast, drive to Darjeeling. Check-in at the hotel and explore the town at your leisure. Stay overnight at the hotel.

Day 7: Sightseeing in Darjeeling

At dawn, drive to Tiger Hill to see a spellbinding view of the Himalayas. Watch the world’s third highest peak, the Kanchandzonga, turn from pink to gold as the sun rises over the mountain range. On your way back, stop by the 135-year-old Ghoom monastery and the Batasia Loop War Memorial, built in the memory of martyred Gorkha soldiers. After breakfast at the hotel, visit the Himalayan Mountaineering Institute (closed on Thursday). Here you will find original equipment used by Tenzing Norgay and Edmund Hillary on their first expedition up the Mount Everest. Also, visit the Tibetan Refugee Centre (closed on Sunday) and the Padmaja N. Zoological Garden (closed on Thursday). Browse through souvenirs at the local market and Mall Road. Enjoy the evening at your leisure. Stay overnight at the hotel.

Day 8: Departure from Bagdogra Airport/New Jalpaiguri Station

After breakfast, go to the Bagdogra Airport/New Jalpaiguri Railway Station for your return journey.
