Day wise Itinerary


DAY 1: ARRIVE AT DELHI

You will be greeted with a traditional Indian welcome by our Tour Executive at the Arrival Hall at the Delhi International Indira Gandhi Airport. You will be then escorted to your hotel and shall be assisted with check-in. He will explain the travel plan in detail and hand over the essential documents to you.

DAY 2: HALF DAY SIGHTSEEING IN DELHI-JAIPUR

After breakfast you will drive through New Delhi, which came into existence much later and is also known as Lutyens’ Delhi. Named after Edwin Lutyens, the British architect who was largely responsible for designing the India Gate (memorial to the martyrs of World War I), Rashtrapati Bhavan (Presidential House), the Secretariat, the Parliament House and many other government buildings.

After you complete your sightseeing set off for a lovely drive of approximately five hours to Jaipur: The origins of the beautiful city of Jaipur can be traced back to the eighteenth century, during the reign of Jai Singh II who ascended the Amber throne in 1699. Jaipur today, epitomizes the spirit of Rajputana. In-spite of growing into a bustling metropolis, it still retains its character and history - A beautiful fusion of the yesteryears and modernity. Jaipur is popularly known as the Pink City because of the extensive use of the locally abundant pink plastered stone, painted so in honor of the visit of the royal consort of Queen Victoria. Jaipur thrills the soul with its massive forts, magnificent palaces, exquisite temples and lush gardens.

DAY 3: JAIPUR

Make a 9 a.m. excursion to the Amber Fort & Palace so that you may ascend to its colossal red entrance on the back of a highly decorated elephant.

Raja Man Singh constructed the Amber Fort that is now regarded as a quintessential example of Rajput architecture as is the elaborate design of the Palace’s interior.

You will see the fort’s splendor with your own eyes when you walk down the hallways and chambers to see the luxurious and adorned ambiance of the palace.

In the afternoon, explore the sights of the fascinating walled city of Jaipur, including the Palace Complex.

While visiting the Palace Complex, see the Jantar Mantar Observatory, a sanctuary of the astronomer king, Maharaja Jai Singh II. Nearby, the intriguing Palace of the Wind, the Hawa Mahal, was built in 1799 to allow ladies from the royal family to view the city and bazaar below in privacy.

Continue to the breathtaking Palace, a royal residence built in a blend of Rajasthani and Mughal architectural styles.

The city’s Palace Complex holds several museums that contain impressive collections of miniature paintings, costumes, and armory. Between the art gallery and the armory, you will find the majestic Diwan-i-Khas—the hall of selective audience.

The Diwan-i-Khas is a marble-paved pavilion that puts on display massive set of silver vessels. The vessels, the world’s largest sterling silver object, used to be filled with royal drinking water from the River Ganga.

In the evening you are free for relaxing or can option to walk through some interesting lanes of pink city to witness as to how the old city comes in to life.

DAY 4: JAIPUR- FATEHPUR SIKRI -AGRA

In the early morning check out the hotel and drive down to Agra. This drive will take approximately five hours. In En route break journey at Fatehpur Sikri. Constructed by Akbar between 1570 -1585 A.D., this red sandstone city houses many impressive architectural monuments. Most remarkable among these are the towering Buland Darwaza, the exquisite marble tomb of Salim Chishti ( the Muslim mystic who gave his blessings to Emperor Akbar for a son), Panch Mahal, Jodha Bai’s Palace, Birbal Bhavan and the unique checkered Pachisi Court. After you complete your sightseeing, resume the drive to Agra.

Arrive in Agra and check into your hotel After the lunch begin your discovery of the historic city of Agra with a visit to the impressive red sandstone Agra Fort built by Akbar – the most illustrious ruler of the Mughal dynasty - in 1565 A.D. It was subsequently embellished with beautiful palaces, mosque and gardens by his successors. Replete with priceless examples of craftsmanship from the Mughal era, these include the exquisite Moti Masjid or Pearl Mosque, the Diwan-i-Khas, the Diwan-i-Am, Jahangir Mahal and Shish Mahal.

Visit the magnificent Taj Mahal, a pristine white marble mausoleum built by Emperor Shah Jahan in memory of his wife – Mumtaz Mahal. One of the Seven Wonders of the World, it took 20,000 workers from neighboring Islamic countries, 22 years of ceaseless toil to create this exquisite white marble monument upon which peopled have waxed eloquent throughout the world.

DAY 5: AGRA –GWALIOR

Morning check out of your hotel after early breakfast. In the early morning Check out the hotel and drive down to Gwalior. This drive will take approximately two hours Arrive Gwalior and check into your hotel.

The ancient city of Gwalior is steeped in its past splendor. A multitude of reigning dynasties like the Pratiharas, Kachwahas and Tomars have left imprints of their rule in this city of palaces, temples and monuments. Located in the State of Madhya Pradesh, Gwalior has some impressive monuments which are a must for every visitor. These include the hilltop Gwalior Fort, the enormous Jain sculptures at the base of the hill, as well as the Sas Bahu and Teli ka Mandir temples and the Man Singh Palace.

Meriting a visit also are the Jai Mahal Palace and the Scindia Museum located within the Palace. Designed by an English architect, the Palace is an amazing replica of Buckingham Palace. However, only a part of it is open to the public as the royal family (Scindia’s) still resides here. Apart from an extensive display of trophies of stuffed tigers and wildlife shot by the Royal family, the Palace is a fascinating example of the wealth and indulgence of royal families in India.

DAY 6: GWALIOR- JHANSI- ORCHHA

Early Morning check out after breakfast drive down from Gwalior to Orchha via Jhansi, this drive will be take approximately three hours. The gateway to Bundelkhand. Jhansi is known for the valour of Rani Jhansi. It was here she fought the British. Upon arrival at Jhansi, our representative will receive you and drive down to Orchha - medieval city of Orchha flanked by the river Betwa, known for its palaces and temples of the 16th and 17th century built by Bundela rulers. The journey is around one hour from Jhansi. Evening free to explore Orchha on own.

DAY 7: ORCHHA – KHAJURAHO

In the Morning proceed For sight seeing tour of Orchha visiting Jehangir Mahal - the largest of the palaces, the Raj Mahal with its murals and the Raj Praveen Mahal built near a garden, You would also visit Dinman Hardaul`s palace with its interesting story. The temples of Orchha are highly preserved. The two main temples are the Ram Raja Temple with its lofty spires and the Chaturbhuj temple.

Late Afternoon check out and drive down to Khajuraho, the ancient capital of the Chandela Kings. Khajuraho is known for its magnificent carved temples dedicated to Lord Shiva, Lord Vishnu and the Jain Tirthankaras. These temples were built between 950 A.D. and 1050 A.D. These temples represent some of the most exquisite specimens of medieval India, now declared a world heritage site by UNESCO. The Drive will take Four hours. Check into your hotel.

DAY 8: KHAJURAHO

After breakfast visit famous temples of the western group, built by Chandela kings about 1000 years back. The 89 temples represent are dedicated to Shiva, Vishnu and Brahma. The main shrines are ornately carved with massive pillars and arches. The ceilings and walls are adorned with exquisite carvings depicting on the interests in human life, feasts, hunting's, music, dances, love! Afternoon, visit eastern group temples dedicated to Jainism with beautiful sculptures. Late Afternoon check out to hotel and drive down to air port to board your flight for Delhi.
