Day wise Itinerary


Day 1: Arrival at Bagdogra Airport/New Jalpaiguri Station | Drive to Darjeeling (95 km/approx. 3 hours)

You will receive assistance on your arrival at the Bagdogra Airport/New Jalpaiguri Railway Station. Drive to Darjeeling and check-in at the hotel. Spend the evening at your leisure. Overnight at the hotel.

Day 2: Sightseeing in Darjeeling

At dawn, drive to Tiger Hill to see an awe-inspiring view of the Himalayas. Watch the world’s third highest peak, the Kanchandzonga, turn from pink to gold as the sun rises over the mountain range. On your way back, stop by the 135-year-old Ghoom Monastery and the Batasia Loop War Memorial, built in the memory of martyred Gorkha soldiers. After breakfast at the hotel, visit the Himalayan Mountaineering Institute (closed on Thursday). Here you will find original equipment used by Tenzing Norgay and Edmund Hillary on their first expedition up the Mount Everest. Also, visit the Tibetan Refugee Centre (closed on Sunday) and the Padmaja N. Zoological Garden (closed on Thursday). Browse through souvenirs at the local market and Mall Road. Enjoy the evening at your leisure. Stay overnight at the hotel.

Day 3: Drive from Darjeeling to Gangtok (105 km/approx. 4 hours)

After breakfast, drive to Gangtok. Stop by the Teesta River on your way. Once you reach Gangtok, check- in at the hotel and spend the evening at your leisure. Stay overnight in Gangtok.

Day 4: Trip to Tsomgo Lake

After breakfast, travel 35 km from Gangtok to picnic along the Tsomgo Lake. At 12,400 feet above sea level, this lake has been formed by the melting of glaciers from the surrounding mountains. The lake is considered sacred by locals. Spend the evening at your leisure in Gangtok.

Day 5: Drive from Gangtok to Lachung (117 km/approx. 6.5 hours)

In the morning, drive to Lachung. On your way, see the Phodong Monastery, Singhik View Point, Chumthang Valley, Twin Falls and Vima Falls. Explore the beautiful Himalayan village of Lachung in the evening. Overnight at the hotel.

Day 6: Trip to Yumthang Valley

After breakfast, drive to the Yumthang Valley. Yumthang is a picturesque region surrounded by the rugged Himalayas. In spring, the ice in the valley thaws out to allow vast grazing pastures to grow all around. Many a yak can be seen grazing in the pastures. Visit the Singba Rhododendron Sanctuary and the Hot Sulphur Spring. Drive back to Lachung for lunch. Then, visit the Lachung Monastery and the Government Cottage Industry. Stay overnight at the hotel.

Day 7: Drive from Lachung to Gangtok (117 km/approx. 5 hours)

After breakfast, return to Gangtok and check-in at the hotel. Stay overnight in Gangtok.

Day 8: Departure from Bagdogra Airport/New Jalpaiguri Station

After breakfast, drive to the Bagdogra Airport/New Jalpaiguri Railway Station for your return journey.
