Dharamshala was the capital of the erstwhile Katoch Dynasty, considered as one of the oldest serving royal families in the world. It’s a popular hill station among those who love holidaying in the mountains. More recently, the Indian Premier League brought Dharamshala into the cricketing spotlight with its beautiful cricket stadium. Dalhousie is a beautiful and serene hill station with wooded valleys and mountain springs.

Day wise Itinerary


Day 01: Drive from Pathankot to Dharamshala (90km/approx. 2 hours)

After you arrive at the Pathankot railway station, you car will pick you up and take you to Dharamshala. Check-in at the hotel and spend the rest of the evening at your leisure. Dinner and overnight at the hotel.

Day 02: Sightseeing in Dharamshala

After breakfast, visit the Tibetan Medical Centre that produces traditional Tibetan medicines. This research and treatment centre also has a museum that displays rocks, metals, fossils, wood, bark, etc. used to make the medicines. The Church of St. John is located in a deodar forest. Visitors come to admire the beautiful Belgian stained-glass windows from the 19 th century. You may also visit local monasteries or take part in a meditation class. Spend the evening at your leisure. Dinner and overnight at the hotel.

Day 03: Drive from Dharamshala to Dalhousie (130 km/approx. 4 hrs)

After breakfast, drive to Dalhousie. Check-in and spend a day of rest at the hotel. Dinner and overnight in Dalhousie.

Day 04: Sightseeing in Dalhousie

After breakfast, go on a full-day sightseeing tour of Dalhousie. Visit Panchpula, the town’s popular picnic spot. Along with streams and ponds, Panchpula has a memorial dedicated to freedom fighter Sardar Ajit Singh. Ajit Singh was the uncle of young martyr Bhagat Singh. Take a walk under towering pine trees at the Subhash Baoli. You will see the Bhulwani Mata temple at Bara Pathar. There is also a potato field nearby. Hike up Bakrota Hills for an impressive view of snow-clad peaks and see the first church to be built in Dalhousie, the St. John’s Church. Dinner and overnight stay at the hotel.

Day 05: Trip to Khajjiar

After breakfast, drive to Khajjiar to spend the day in what is called India’s ‘mini-Switzerland’. Khajjiar is among the 160 places in the world that was officially given the title because of its resemblance to the lovely landscapes in Switzerland. The lush green meadows are a photographer’s delight. Khajjiar Lake is situated at the centre of the plains. Return to Dalhousie. Dinner and overnight stay at the hotel.

Day 06: Drive from Dalhousie to Pathankot (70 km/approx. 3 hours)

After breakfast, you will be driven back to Pathankot for your return journey.
